As part of the California Festival: A Celebration of New Music, Sameer and the San Diego Youth Symphony will perform at San Diego’s Rady Shell, in a program that includes music by Anna Clyne, Andrea Casarrubios, and Michael-Thomas Foumai

Summer 2023:

Sameer makes his debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, leads the world premiere of Reena Email’s Rosa del Sal at the Wintergreen Festival in Virginia, and returns to the New England Conservatory’s Summer Orchestra Institute. In addition, at the invitation of First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Sameer and his wife, Shannon, are guests at The White House.

Spring 2023:

Sameer is named Musical America’s New Artist of the Month for April. He returns to the Florida Orchestra and the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, and his work is profiled in the San Diego Union-Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Winter 2023:

Sameer makes debuts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on their MusicNow series, and leads the world premiere of William Harvey’s Seven Decisions of Gandhi with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he leads his first performances as Artistic Director of the San Diego Youth Symphony.

Fall 2022:

Sameer joins the roster of 8va Music Consultancy.

Summer 2022:

Sameer joins the San Diego Youth Symphony as Artistic Director. For nearly 80 years, San Diego Youth Symphony (SDYS), a division of KeyNote, has served as a catalyst for investing in the future of thousands of young San Diegans through the study and performance of music. Through SDYS’ flagship youth orchestra program in historic Balboa Park, its community engagement programs across San Diego County, and its early childhood music curriculum, SDYS is San Diego’s comprehensive cradle-to-college music education provider, serving thousands of young musicians and their families every year.
